Dear readers,
With the current financial crisis at hand, the last thing Internet Marketers around the world would like to see is a decline in their online profits.
Yesterday, I logged in to my Adsense account to check the amount paid for the clicks generated last month only to realise that the exchange rate between USD and SGD was stated 1.000 : 1!
I googled to check if I was the only ‘victim’ and it seems that other Adsense account holders are also experiencing the similiar problems. Could you imagine the look on the faces of Adsense account holders in India where USD$1 is paid as INR 1 Rs!
I do hope that this is truly a bug and that Google could clarify on this as soon as possible.
Dear readers,
Needless to say, the Google Adsense cheque of S$223.15 that I just received, proves that I’m already earning a monthly passive income from Google. During these few months, I’ve been leaving my websites running on their own with no intervention since they were self-sustaining.
Having read Timothy Ferriss’s “The 4-Hour Work Week”, I’m now looking to creating more websites that can be left on auto pilot, generating passive income while leaving me out of the picture.

If you have not started your Adsense journey, it’s time to you start. If you have already started and have any problems, feel free to leave a comment and I’ll try my best to help.
Dear readers,
Are you constantly generating Adsense codes just because you wanted to make minor changes like rounding the corner of the ad, add a new channel, change the background colour, etc.? Well, I know I do because I’m constantly tweeking and experimenting with my ad placements for my websites.
I believe the Adsense team knows this for a fact because they’ve just announced that they will be implementing a new feature that enables you to manage your ad units from within your Adsense acount. This means that if you need to make any changes to your ad units, simply manage the settings for that ad unit within your account.

Dear readers,
Check out this video on the upcoming Google Adsense video units:
CqXDziUCVWY
When Google acquired YouTube in October 2006 for US$1.65 billion in stock, I was pretty puzzled about the move because it wasn’t generating enough revenue to sustain its growing video sharing population.
As most internet marketers who use Adsense would know, if they create a website showing videos, none of their visitors would pay attention, much less click on the ads around the video because they are all focusing their attention on the video.
Now one year after Google acquired YouTube, they have made the announcement to introduce video units into the Adsense family. According to the Google Adsense Blog, they say that, “AdSense isn’t just for ads anymore; it’s also a place to get video content for your site — and earn extra revenue at the same time.”

Dear readers,
I’ve just received my Google Adsense cheque of S$244.98. This payment is for the earnings accumulated for the last two months because I did not manage to clear the $100 mark in August.
I would be expecting another cheque by the end of this month because I ended the month of September with over US$150 in my Adsense account. Around US$50+ was earned through Google referral 2.0.
I didn’t make much changes to my portals last month due to the tonnes of school projects I had to clear at night and over the weekends so most of the traffic to my portals are based on previous efforts.
In case you’re wondering what I’m going to do with my earnings, they’re going into my investment funds.

Dear readers,
Have you gone through the tips from part I to IV? I hope you have because from this tip onwards, we will be focusing on generating traffic and revenue and if you have not implemented the necessary channels and analytical tools, you will not be able to know if your efforts are working or not.
The first thing you should do for your website, is to submit it to search engines. In Singapore, we have three search engines that make up over 80% of the search engine market. These three search engines are:

Dear readers,
So far, we have touched on creating your first adsense ad unit, tracking your ad units with channels and ad placements.
The next stage before you start promoting your website, is to start tracking your website. You’re probably thinking that I’m being long-winded, to be talking about tracking, tracking, and more tracking, especially when I’m already on my fourth tip. Well my opinion is that before you start any free or paid marketing campaign to promote your website, you should be able to track the results. If not, how would you know that your efforts are working?

Dear readers,
In the previous two Adsense Tips, I have finished covering the parts on creating your ad code. From now onwards, I will be covering tips on how to increase your earnings legally.
At too many occassions, I have seen publishers place ads in their website but do not get any clicks. The problem arises when they place their ad banners in spots that have poor visibility in the web page.

Dear readers,
As promised, I’ll do an entire post on using channels with your ads because that’s how important channels are.
To explain simply, channels enable you to view a detailed report about the performance of specific web pages and ad units. When you assign a channel to a selection of web pages or ad units, you will be able to track their performance, and even compare them to other channels to see what’s working and what’s not.
The are two types of channels, URL channels and custom channels.
